BUDGET, TITHES & OFFERINGS
"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will
also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.
Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not
reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver" --
2 Corinthians 9:6-7
When you give...
Your gifts affect thousands of people. The under-resourced are cared for,
the lonely are connected, kids' lives change and people draw nearer to Christ each day.
We can be grateful for all of that.
One way to celebrate God and thank Him for all He has done is by giving a financial gift. We encourage this
for anyone who considers C@C his or her church home and who truly desires to
give back to God with a thankful heart.
Because of this, we don't "pass the plate" during our Sunday services.
Instead, an offering box is placed in the lobby to receive these
contributions, or you can mail your check, or use your credit card through
the church office: 970.963.8773.
To prepare your heart for giving to the Lord, you may want to read
Proverbs 3:9-10 and
Malachi 3:8-12. For more on this, please read "Giving
& Receiving" and for an explanation of the biblical basis for joyful
giving please read "Tithing".

First Fruits
The first 15 percent of
C@C's income (your monetary gifts) is given to outside organizations or to individuals in need.
We do this in order to:
-
Give God our first fruits as outlined in the Bible
-
Model as a church the biblical concept of tithing
-
Fulfill the great commandment of loving our neighbors as
ourselves by supporting others in ministry and helping the poor and needy
In 2006 we decided by faith that we should create a
“C@C Share Some Jar” by raising our tithe by 4% to 15%. 2% will be allocated for
local/valley needs and 2% for global needs. Every month
the Outreach Purpose Team will be determine
where we should share this money. The Team parameters are:
-
These are “one time” gifts for specific
causes or needs (This is not short term or long term missionary support
that will be handled by our 6 % tithe to the missions team).
-
The jar must empty every two months (This
outreach effort must be fresh from our seeking God’s heart for present
needs).
-
These funds must not be distributed to our
own C@C people to meet their needs. We already have our
Needs Network
(benevolence funds) for that.
-
The “Share Some Jar” is a part of our church
tithe and won’t be receiving specially designated gifts.
