what IS podcasting?
Podcasting is a method of publishing audio
programs via the Internet, allowing users to subscribe to a feed of new
files (usually mp3s).
Listeners may subscribe to feeds using "podcatching" software (such as
iTunes), which periodically checks for and downloads new content
automatically. Most podcatching software enables the user to copy podcasts
to portable music players.
what you
need for podcasting...
iPod/mp3 Player
(optional)
Podcasting is designed to allow you to listen to daily radio
broadcasts and experience other multimedia content at your convenience
on your mp3 player. The iPod is Apple's brand of mp3 player, but podcasting is available for all brands.
Visit apple.com for more information.
iTunes
Apple's proprietary mp3 organizer/aggregator downloads your podcast(s)
to your computer and (optionally) transfers them to your iPod/mp3 player. iTunes is a free program,
compatible with PCs and Macs.
The newest version of iTunes allows you to subscribe to podcasts
directly in iTunes. You can subscribe to C@C's podcasts using the instructions below.
